Not Your Mom's Coquito

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! As I sit here in my onesie Christmas pajamas, I am thinking about all the things that make me feel at home during the holidays. My mom makes her famous arroz con gandules and her pernil (slow cooked pork shoulder.) My sister always brings over her homemade coquito. What's coquito you ask? It's Puerto Rican egg nog only not made with eggs. This year I wanted to change things up and add a little flare to my sister's coquito recipe so I turned to two spirits that are basically best friends, RumChata and Fireball whiskey. When you put these two together they the taste like your favorite breakfast cereal so why not add this to Coquito. Blend, chill, serve and enjoy.



  • 1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 can (12oz) evaporated milk

  • 2 cups of caribbean rum (with real dairy cream)

  • 1oz cinnamon whiskey

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Prep Time:

15 mins (chill for 24hrs)


4-5 servings





Step 1: Blend all ingredients (except cinnamon) in your blender for 5 mins on high.

Step 2: Refrigerate for 24 hrs.

Step 3: Serve, chilled with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top and enjoy.
